The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Assumption of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven towers over Mexico City’s Zócalo, a silent storyteller carved in stone. Built over centuries, its façade blends history—solemn at its base, intricate as it rises, with saints and angels weathered by time. Its twin bell towers stretch skyward, standing firm as the city shifts beneath them.
Every time I visit, I feel the weight and wonder of Mexico’s past. The cathedral isn’t just a landmark—it’s a monument to resilience, watching over the ever-moving heart of the city.
From our visit to Mexico City in January 2025.
